We offer a summary of the principal provisions for the maintenance of the peace and science in Antarctica and the pertinent conventions for the protection of the Antarctic environment. We also include how the Consultative and Non-Consultative parties administer the Antarctic region under the administrative guidance of the Antarctic Treaty Secretariat. Finally, this article tries to motivate the reader to think more about Antarctica and its emerging problems, emphasizing the spirit of international collaboration of the Antarctic Treaty for the conservation of the world’s last wilderness.
